american gem trade association

The American Gem Trade Association is a the leading authority on colored gemstones in the United States. I worked closely with the organization to grow their social media reach and educate members on how they could use social media to tell their brand story and reach new customers. In addition, I collaborated with the Head of Marketing to create the Gembassador™ Program: an on-going social media marketing campaign that engaged key influencers in the jewelry and gemstone industry to promote AGTA’s two annual trade shows and annual design awards gala.

As part of our on-going relationship, I became a contributing writer for AGTA’s Prism Magazine, a quarterly print publication, writing about trends and re-imagining their Member Profiles. feature. Traditionally, these profiles were written after a phone interview and utilized whatever images were submitted by the member. My process included visiting members in their offices to conduct interviews and photograph their diverse collections in person. The resulting profiles of gemstone dealers and jewelers are lushly detailed records of each AGTA member’s journey in the jewelry industry. a digital version of each of these stories and my trend reporting was published on diamondoodles.com where i was able to lay out each piece of writing to be a visually compelling collage of photographs and stories. With the launch of each new member profile, I “took over” the AGTA instagram account to post, share interactive stories, and promote the new feature.
